Horse Riding – Kufri, Shimla

Kufri is a summer resort situated at height of 8600 feet (2,510 m) above the sea level. It is away from the busy life of Shimla and known for its cool moderate climate, scenic beaty and landscape meadows. Tourists avail the opportunity of taking good pictures and enjoy trekking and hiking trails. The best time to visit kufri is when its under the cover of snow in winters. The mountainous slopes of Kufri gives an advantage to visiter’s in winters to enjoy the sporting nature of Skiing and tobogganing. Exquisite nature parks and scenic spots in the backdrop of natural settings are prime attractions. Visiters enjoy the panoramic views of the valley and the snow clad foothills of Himalayas. The cost varies from Rs 150 to Rs 600 with respect to season to season.

Skiing is also another sport very famous in Kufri; Rates are around Rs 400 for half an hour. Kufri remains in Snow from December to end of Feb. Probably this is the only point in Shimla where more snow for tourist to enjoy is available in winter.

Popular spots to visit in and around Kufri are The Himalayan Nature Park and Indira Tourist Park. Kufri comes alive during the winter season when a number of skiing enthusiasts visit this place. Winter sports festival is in February is a major draw.

In kufri there are many restaurant and shops selling souvenirs, woolen items, handicarfts and Ethnic items . Visitors can reach the top by their own vehicle also. Also visitors can enjoy walking in kufri and will take around 30 to 40 minutes to reach to the top.
